Hope Mill Theatre Visit

Yesterday, local neighbourhood officers PC Salgado (PC10606) and PC Ahmed (PC10599) joined colleagues from GMP’s Cyber Crime Team to deliver a community safety presentation to new students at Hope Mill Theatre.

During the session, officers discussed some of the key issues currently affecting local communities, including thefts from vehicles, robbery and parcel theft. Students were also provided with practical advice on how to stay safe online, protect their personal information and reduce their chances of becoming victims of crime.

The officers shared simple but effective ways to prevent theft from vehicles, including:

• Always remove valuables from your vehicle or keep them out of sight.
• Lock all doors and close windows, even if leaving your vehicle for a short time.
• Never leave bags, laptops, mobile phones or other items on display.
• Park in well-lit, busy areas whenever possible.
• Ensure keyless vehicles are protected by keeping keys away from doors and stored in signal-blocking pouches where appropriate.

Thank you to everyone who attended, took part and engaged with the session. We wish all students the very best as they begin their new term.

By taking a few simple precautions and staying informed, we can all play a part in keeping our communities safe.
